After a fun-filled weekend at the “UK’s Largest Entertainment Show’s” 15th London MCM Expo I attended on Sunday it has sadly now come to an end. But while I was there I took lots of pictures with my 10MP Hitachi Digital Camera with 90% chances of the picture coming out blurry due to its gentle shock sensor which made me very sad.
The Expo was a lot of fun in my opinion, and despite the fact that the world is currently facing the financial crisis, the Expo managed to retain everything by keeping the same sized venue with packed stands everywhere, the venue was big but not in the term big where its like there multi floors where you go or the size of Michel Jackson’s mansion. It was just a large, squared venue, which took up like a corner of the whole exhibition.
Also there were a fair amount of cosplayers (and fyi I didn’t since that takes time to make, or to simply buy but cosplays are over-expensive when you buy online <_<) Including characters from RPG games like Final Fantasy to characters from Animu/Mango like Bleach. But compared to the previous years I attended this year there were a lack of Naruto cosplayers, as there were like hundreds of people cosplaying Naruto back in 2007, which made me intimidated as there were Naruto clones everywhere, it seems like the Narutard fad is dieing out a little bit…
The Expo didn’t just promoted Animu/Mango and game, since its “the UK’s Largest Entertainment Show” it also had stands promoting trading card games such as the hit TV show Lost, Battlestar Galactica and Buffy, new movies coming out later this year including Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Franklyn, 20th Century Boys, Inglorious Basterds and Land of the Lost.
Not only Movies and the media but also the Expo also included Guest stars every year, this year they had Linda Hamilton, Tony Curtus, James Duval, Lindsay Wagner and many more. Also more then 35 comic artist also attended the expo, promoting their works for the public to feast their eyes on. Game publishers were also at the Expo, promoting their soon-to-be blockbuster games this year, including; Atari, Koei, Rising Star, Eidos, Capcom, Ankama, Esdevium, Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast, Upper Deck and much, much more.
Also in the Expo what’s more tradition as there’s also a masquerade taking place in the afternoon, where cosplayers take the aile and do a cat-walk-like fashion show, perform skits to entertain the audience, and not forgetting the competition to compete for many cosplaying awards splitted into categories. But to watch the masquerade its going to be a lot difficult, since there’re limited seats at the portable stage, a limited amount of tickets to watch the show are available throughout the day, but its on a first-come-first-serve basis, so tickets won’t last long. Unfortunately for me, I was too late when I got there… =( But fear not! since I took a lot of pictures of the cosplayers after the Expo had ended, and all the cosplayers were all gathered outside ready for a photo shoot or either waiting for the bus/train to go back home.
So anyways, here are the pictures I took on Sunday at the London MCM Expo~! If you’re reading from the home page then click the link below to read on and view the photos I took!

Well that is pretty much it fir the 15th London MCM Expo, the UK’s Largest Entertainment Show”, the 16th Expo will be taking place on the 24th-25th of October, which I’ll be likely to be attending as well, also there are chances that the “JapanEX” Expo will be coming back this coming July, like it did back in 2007 but unfortunately didn’t in 2008, but no announcement have been made at this point, so I’ll have to keep that in mind…
Update: JapanEX not happening this year, most likely due to the current state of the economical climate… -__-
Well I’ll think I’ll end this post here since this is like the longest blog post I ever did for now…
So until then~
