If you haven’t noticed already when you were getting your daily fix of Keion (c’mon despite you haters, you’re all probably gargling this series at night :3), you would’ve noticed a slipped in TV ad of KyoAni with it’s army of lolis and shota slaves with its array of elementary school working together making out the KyoAni flower logo out of, well, flowers and plants.
The second season of the K-ON! anime franchise was announced after the “Let’s Go!” live concert in Yokohama on Wednesday. When the concert’s two encores ended, the large onstage screen displayed footage from the first season of the television anime series. Then the screen displayed an announcement that the second season has been green-lit.
The anime’s official website has also confirmed that production on the second season has been green-lit. The anime adapted kakifly’s four-panel comedy manga about a budding high school band.
The planned feature-length film “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” now has a promotional video released. Consisting of a selection of scenes cherry-picked from the movie while in production with some text in a black background with some mild piano music playing, déjà vu?
An early copy of the September issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype magazine has confirmed that the current Endless Eight arc of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television anime series will end this week. The Newtype issue will officially ship on Monday. The Endless Eight arc recounts a short time-loop plotline from Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito’s original science-fiction comedy light novels. In the anime version, the same story was used for several episodes in the row, with minor changes from week to week. The anime has been in this story arc since June 19.
Alas! The exciting and the most entertaining arc in the Haruhi world will come to an end with an amazing 8 episodes! That pretty much explains the irony of “Endless Eight” there…haha
Continuing on from my previous post about the former Kyo-Ani director’s apology of the recent Endless Eight Arc in the new season of Haruhi, the guys at Kyo-Ani made a response to Yamamoto’s regrets in 10 words. (Courtesy of Sankaku Complex and J-Cast)
“This person has absolutely nothing to do with our company.”
I suggest “This person has absolutely nothing to do with our company anymore” would be a better statement since, he did once work for Kyo-Ani as the director of Haruhi, until they abruptly kicked him out of the company that is.
Riiight, so the former director of Haruhi apologises on behalf of Kyo-Ani (at Otakon 2o09) for the recent recycled Endless Eight Arc. Who stated that he knew about this a year ago and didn’t tell the public (via his blog) about it, otherwise he would get into trouble, and also thought it was going to last for 2 episodes, but turning out to be 6 episodes. And lastly on behalf of SOS-Dan Production Committee Former SOS Dan Production Committee, he trulyapologises to its fans for the obscene direction the series has taken with the hated Endless Eight arc, calling it “inexcusable”.
Yet again, the 6th episode of Haruhi just came out this week, and continues to play out the infinite loop, or as we call, “Endless Eight”.
Coming from my previous rant post, I’m not really surprised or as pissed off as last week, since I already knew this was going to happen (5 times now). But the new OP and ED made some of it up and kind of cheered me up (the new OP/ED for Haruhi is better than the first in my opinion).
The episode was the same really, Kyon and the rest do some last-minute summer activities, one night Kyon is called to meet up in the park in the middle of the night, only to find out that they’re all stuck in a infinite time loop, with the only way out of it is for Haruhi to be satisfied for what she has done for the summer. The last day of summer, as Haruhi walks out of the restaurant Kyon tries to call out to her, but unsurprisingly fails to do so. After knowing that it’ll just be August 17th the next day, Kyon goes to bed without finishing his homework. But with different clothes and no Haruhi’s Yukata fest.
Seriously the 2nd season of Haruhi is failing in my point of view after the 4th episode, and with the 5th that aired this week, thinking that the “Endless Eight” Arc is going to be over with 4 episodes (Where the characters are trapped in a endless loop through the last 2 weeks of summer, that’s been going on for over 15k times and the only way for the loop to end is for Haruhi to be completely satisfied at what she’s done over summer vacation), after watching it (awesome OP) I was unsurprisingly wrong. It was just another carbon copy of the 3 previous episodes. But with altered scenes and less appealing Haruhi-chosen outfits.
I swear if this goes on for about 13 episodes or even 15,513 (as stated by Nagato), then this will be the epically failed move in anime production history (or maybe it even is right now) and might leave me committing seppuku.
My suggestion to the guys who’re in charge for the anime is to just stop this continuous trolling to toy around with the fan’s high hopes, to get this over with and move onto the important parts based on the light novels, such as The Sigh of H.S. and The Disappearance of H.S.
The third episode of the so-called The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2nd Season (Which is just a re-broadcast with new episodes added in) leaves me baffled just like every other Haruhi episode. But this time it actually makes sense, but with the feel of baffladge at the end.
Summary from Wiki;
Like the previous episode, Kyon’s easy going summer vacation is interrupted as the group is taken on a whirlwind tour of summer activities, from swimming pools to summer festivals, part-time jobs, and stargazing. However, Kyon is wracked by a constant sense of déjà vu. Koizumi is likewise troubled, while Nagato seems even more detached than usual. The humanoid interface finally reveals the truth: Haruhi has put the last two weeks of August into an infinite loop because she refuses to let summer end. However, none of them can devise anything to stop the cycle from repeating. As the last day of vacation arrives, Kyon once again finds himself unsuccessfully facing down a mountain of unfinished homework.
I’ve been hijacking summaries from Wiki lately…
My summary;
The whole episode gets recycled from the last episode with new stuff added in the process.
Looks like Kyon is dragged into another mess he isn’t even related to. With the ever-lasting time loop of the last two weeks of summer vacation repeating itself already over 15,498 times, until Haruhi is satisfied of what she did in the last two weeks of Summer. So how will Kyon and the rest solve this recurring matter? Well all will continue in the next weeks episode, unpredictably called “Endless Eight Part III” which then my brain will malfunction due to the shows confusing plot holes and pace.
