SUDDENLY, an Angel Beats post!

Rather too soon to call out for a continuation since the second season is still on air? Yeah me too…
But the good news is that the Strike Witches legacy is not ending just yet. Good grief there’s more panty exposure action to come.
The good (nsfw) source.

Ahh the nostalgia… It’s been a while (9 months actually) since I’ve watched remotely a single episode of K-ON! after its first broadcast run. As for the cunningly announced second season to debut later this year (Spring most likely) a special specially packaged with the last DVD/BD volume of the first series sounds quite nice to carry on the moé-blob legacy. Call me a Keion-fag, but to be truthful I actually enjoyed watching the series and this special. Sure the marketing campaign and the craze for it is a little over-the-top and its a tad overrated… but I guess everyone has their own tastes…

Well I’ll be.

Just when I thought the whole K-ON! fad was over, a new episode appears out of the blue. Only the difference is that its coming out next year.
All in favour the extra episode will be a flashback of Mio and Ritsu’s past when the two were friends in grade school, say aye.

Remember my previous post about the confirmation of a 3rd season of Shana? Well…
New Shana Anime to Be Shakugan no Shana S OVA Series (Updated)
1st DVD/BD volume in October with “Shakugan no Shanatan” extra, Ito sleeve
The August issue of Kadokawa Shoten‘s Newtype magazine will confirm on Friday that the new Shana anime project which was revealed last month is the Shakugan no Shana S original video anime (OVA) series. Cast members Rie Kugimiya and Satoshi Hino will reprise their roles as Shana and Yuuji, respectively.
Like the previous Shakugan no Shana anime, the new series is based on Yashichiro Takahashi and Noizi Ito‘s fantasy light novels. The first volume will ship in Japan on October 23 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The video release will include a tentatively titled “Shakugan no Shanatan” video extra and an audio commentary track, and the first pressing will add a special sleeve illustrated by Ito.
Geneon Entertainment (USA) released the first Shakugan no Shana anime series in North America, and Funimation agreed to reissue the entire series in a DVD box set last September.Viz Media is publishing the fourth volume of Ayato Sasakura‘s manga version this month. Neither the movie version nor the second television season (Shakugan no Shana Second) has been released in North America.

After reading the whole article, I was all like… WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
But seriously, I had high hopes for a third season, well, with the chances for a useless remake for the 2nd season… A nice continuation from the second season, more evil doings from Bal Masque, and maybe some more Shana fanservice, top quality entertainment. Until to be crushed by a series of OVAs, which will only last for 4-5 episodes or so, be based off from the Shakugan no Shana S Spin Off light novels, and several months intervals for every flamin episode. Sheesh… But on the bright side is that there’ll be another Shana-tan short! That sort of cheers me up but still, looks I’ll have to bear with it like I am now with the crappy animation quality in the second season of Hayate…
Looks like another year to go before the 3rd season to be happening…
Update: No worries, the third season will coming shortly after the OVA run concludes. Which ends around Summer 2010. Worth the wait I suppose…

The so-called epic failed anime Akikan!‘s green-litted OVA, to be a original of a trip to the hot springs has begun streaming its 75 seconds promotional video for the 9th volume in the Light Novel series, to be out on 23rd October later this year. As I read the relevant article on ANN;
ANN – Akikan! Hot Spring OVA Episode’s Promo Video Streamed
The official website for Riku Ranjō and Hiro Suzuhira‘s Akikan! romantic comedy light novels and anime has begun streaming a 75-second promotional video for the ninth novel volume, which will bundle an original video anime (OVA) episode, on Friday. The website had announced in March that production on the OVA had been green-lit. The new 25-minute anime episode, “Akikan!/Can Ippatsu!!? Onsen Panic,” takes the main cast to a hot spring. The television anime version ran in Japan from January 3 to March 28, and the pre-order limited edition of the ninth novel with the new anime episode will ship in October 23.
The story revolves around a typical high school boy named Kakeru Daichi and the can of melon juice soda that he bought from a vending machine. The can suddenly transforms into a beautiful but standoffish girl that Kakeru nicknames “Melon,” and more “Akikan!” (“empty can” or “A-Machine”) girls seem. However, Akikan! girls need to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive.

Let’s hope that the quality of the animation will improve this time, from its previous notorious TV broadcast…

Hidden away in the anime’s 7th and last DVD volume of Kannagi, there’s a special 14th episode that unfortunately didn’t manage to air on TV due to broadcasting schedules, so the producers decided it’ll be like a OVA and slap it in the last DVD volume of the anime when it comes out, and thus, it did.
I’m guessing that this is an original story in the anime since I didn’t see this happening in the manga, or maybe it’ll happen in future chapters I don’t know… But the key things that I find kind of smitten ed is the lack of BGM playing through each episode in the series and the slow plot development, despite there weren’t any traces of fillers in the anime, since its based upon chapters 1-18 in the manga. For example, in episode 12, about 20% of the whole episode we see Jin wandering in the empty house all emo since Nagi ran away from home because of him yelling at her, for like 5-6 minutes! With no BGM whatsoever, so it was basically all like a typical episode of Big Brother broadcasting live coverage of a housemate all bored and doing typical things around the house for an hour or so, sheesh…

At long last the highly anticipated Hayate no Gotoku anime is back! With a OVA (Original Animation Video) to accompany the longed for second season to be back on air on the 3rd April~!
Also with the pics above this post (screenshots throughout the OVA and a nice fanservice cap of Hina =D) You can see a indirect preview of the OVA if you’re going to watch it later~
Straight after release there seems to be numerous screenshots leaked all over the net, so I thought I’d contribute too =] Also whats different with this episode is that its produced by JC Staff, the people who did Zero no Tsukaima, Toradora, Index and the like, so the animation and the storyline are fairly different to the first season made by SynergySP.
Well anyhow, at the moment the episode is still in RAW mode, so people out there who knows fluent japanese will be able to watch it feely and directly, but for the rest of us, we’d have to wait for the subs to be made, all in favour for Static/Eclipse to sub say aye! AYE!!
Yes, it seems as so that the Quality anime Akikan!‘s official website for the television anime adaptation of Riku Ranjo and Hiro Suzuhira’s Akikan! romantic comedy light novels has announced on Sunday that production on an Akikan! OVA project has been green-lit. Well since today is the day of the last airing of the anime (episode 12, which I’ll review later ^_^) it is a form of good news for the ‘fanbase’ (if there is one anyways..).
Summary of the whole plot (by ANN):
The story revolves around a typical high school boy named Kakeru Daichi and the can of melon juice soda that he bought from a vending machine. The can suddenly transforms into a beautiful but standoffish girl that Kakeru nicknames “Melon,” and more “Akikan!” (“empty can” or “A-Machine”) girls appear. However, Akikan! girls need to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive.
More updates to come~ (Apologies for the lack of updates for the past week I’ve been pretty busy due to large amounts and heavy school work and crap about my future, which I’m not fond of…lol)
