Update 1: Please stop asking for a date when this will be released! It’ll be released when it is released since there is no official date set for this film!! But from my predictions I’d say sometime at around the end of this year.
The recent final broadcast of voyeurism animu Sora no Otoshimono displayed yet a cunning epic teaser at the end for the upcoming theatrical release (date tba). And just watching the rather serious teaser obvious shows that the Hiyori Kazane Arc will be features as its featured plotline in the film!
Anime goers rest assured as the arc perfectly follows on from the end of the second season and as for loyal manga fans – rejoice!
Personally I think Hiyori’s Arc is the best arc yet in Sora Oto as it is currently the most serious, dramatic and plot churning arc yet, and it was the perfect decision for AIC to turn this into a movie, rather than a normal 2 part special on TV, which would probably would’ve been abridged and lost its depth.
Now I’m not gonna go explain the plot here and spoil everything for anyone, the plot here you might say would be the rather more different than what you’ve seen in both SnO seasons. Yes. Even MORE serious than S1’s climax where Nympth got her wings torn (;__;) and the concluded S2’s Chao’s… chaos (AII TE NANII?) and the abnormally rushed sequence of our Angeloid’s battle with Chaos in the sky. It’s THAT more awesome.
Just looking at this makes me remind myself of Disappearance of Haruhi movie released earlier this year and how that turned out to be a great success on the big screen rather than on LCD.
Although the plot has been confirmed, both release date and length hasn’t been spoke of as of yet but when the time comes, I’ll try my best to report it here. […probably not D:]
From my assumptions since Hiyori’s Arc runs from chapter 34 to 40 in the manga, 7 chapters overall with 40 pages each… I’m guessing at the least the movie would at least last for about 2.5 hours if the producers intend to include all the important bits in the chapters in along with petty anime exclusive SAVISU.
Give me the specific Date of release! I cannot wait for any delays! Also, the movie will be running from 34 up to 41 cause one of the scenes where Astraea and Tomoki has eaten the egg made by sohara.
From my sources, I’m guessing next year spring or summer at the latest… and why I said 40 and not 41 is because the arc formally concludes there. However they include things from 41 as like an epilogue or something.

OMG TY i was about to through a chair though a window or kill the producer’s of the film for not airing it soon this show is epicness but never will be better then elfen lied because elfen lied to me is like a love drug to me and makes me want to find someone to hug and kiss all day long.

Guessing to even out the releases, the movie will come next year 2011, and a “possible” third season in 2012 if the manga is still running. Forte did catch up to a considerable amount of plot in the manga ya know…
oh please! Please! im really desprite for this movie to come out!!! this is my favourite anime in the world and it sucks because i waited more than 3 weeks just to see the 13th episode and i heard there wanst going to be one! i was really pissed off but i just checked the ending of the 12th episode and found out it was a movie after that i would do ANYTHING in the world for there to be a third season so please! if you already made the whole movie it should be released already! plz let it be out!

I get that feeling that the ending has been spoiled for this via the trailer. Since it looks like Hiyori is came out of a coffin, well, to prevent spoilers, I think that its going to be alternate from the manga.
